Trudy Dales

Visual art

Trudy was born in 1952 and since 2012, she has been busy discovering her skills and materials. She works with epoxy, and creates a base of metal wire for the figures. The bald heads are an ode to a deceased friend who left Trudy her materials, so that she could continue to experiment.

Trudy’s work is characterised by figures that are not restricted by clothing. The figures have no face, hair, fingers or toes… This makes expression even more important, and this is reflected in their posture, muscles, breasts and stomach.

The figures enter into their own dialogue with the silhouette of a human being. They arise from the essence of man in its forms and language, such as dancing, climbing or resting. Yet there remains a dynamic nature to their mobility.
