Patrick Jacquemijns

Patrick Jacquemijns was born in 1961 in Brussels. He is largely self-taught, and took his first lessons and workshops at the age of 40 in Belgium. Patrick is particularly fascinated by depicting the female figure nude, and has developed a highly recognizable style of presenting it.

The theme of femininity is present in all of his works, sometimes using fragments and other times visualizing the female body in its entirety. He primarily works in monochrome, utilising acrylic and oil paint. He plays with the contrast between light and dark (chiaroscuro), using light to emphasize feminine beauty and the unapproachable, whilst the dark conceals and obscures the future of these models.

You’ll find numerous Patrick Jacquemijns works, appearing in various sizes, at our gallery in Venlo. Make an appointment, or drop by, without obligation, and utilise the free trial placement offer.
