Pascal Brouwers

Pascal Brouwers lives and works in Geldrop, where he was born in 1975. His lifelong passion for art led him to uncover his own talent. As an autodidact , he has worked to learn more about painting and develop his own skills over the years. Through hard work, Pascal has developed into the artist he is today, and he continues to grow and evolve with each completed piece.

His portraits come to life with each additional layer on the painting. He captures realism stroke by careful stroke, to ensure that each portrait is lifelike and poignant. He aims to capture not just humans, but individuals.

Through creating enlarged portraits with oil paint on a linen canvas, he presents the model in a unique manner.

Expression starts from a curiosity about the world. The people in that world, and the stories they carry with them.

Pascal captures emotions in his work. His own emotion, but more importantly, the emotion of the model and their story. Pascal is detail-oriented in his work to ensure that each portrait tells a story and even the eyes speak to the viewer. The use of colour and style are carefully chosen to support the story, personality and mood of the piece.

In 2008, Pascal won the Brabantse Visual Amateur Art public’s vote from the Stichting Beeldende Vrijetijdskunst.
