Joyce van Oorschot

Joyce van Oorschot was born in 1963 in Apeldoorn.

In 1985, she graduated from the Arnhem Academy of Visual Arts cum laude as a graphic designer. She spent several years working as a designer, photographer and illustrator for various agencies and publishers, before starting out on her own.

She creates paintings, 3D art illustrations and multi-panels using the methods and techniques she developed. She continuously tests new materials in her work, such as acrylic, watercolor, pastel, sheet metal, nail polish, wood, chalk, rust, oxide, sand, synthetic resin and glass. Her paintings are characterized by a powerful design and strong, expressive colours.

In her 3D artworks she combines the basic techniques of acrylic and synthetic resin, mixing them again with various materials to produce unique effects. These are then poured layer by layer into a baking frame, mold, glass or ceramic dish, thus creating a 3D effect and even a magical depth.
